Winter in Vermont
Having lived here in Vermont for quite some time now, I have experienced several winters. Although I dread the impartment of the Summer’s warmth and vibrancy, Winter awakens new feelings of ecstasy. Aside from the dropping temperatures, everything becomes quiescent. The lakes freeze and the trees become skeletons standing dormant among each other until Spring resurrects them. All life slows down and there’s an overwhelming lack of sound, even in the city. For me, Winter inculcates a sense of self-contemplation and appreciation that I can’t achieve from anything else.
