Blackberry, Pomegranate, & Green Tea Smoothie
I usually enjoy a cup of coffee every other day. Yet, as delicious as coffee is, sometimes I become a little burnt out from drinking it so often. So, I like to switch things up with smoothies. Here’s a recipe I’d like to share that’s healthy and energizing.
- 1/8 a cup of pomegranate juice
- a handful of blackberries (feel free to add more! )
- Two dollops of vanilla Greek yogurt
- One tablespoon of green tea Sencha
- 1/4 cup of ice
The first thing you’ll want to do is to steep the Sencha. Bring about a cup and half of water to a boil. Once the water begins to boil, turn off your stove top and add 1 tablespoon of sencha. Let this steep for approximately one minute. No more no less or your drink will taste mighty bitter. After one minute, filter your tea into a shaker, preferably. Put 1/4 a cup of ice into the shaker, close container, and shake until the ice has dissolved. Place blackberries, yogurt, and chilled tea into a blender and purée. If you want your smoothie to have a little more consistency then add a bit more yogurt. This will also help sweeten it a little more.
